Best Practice - Additive Part Labeling

Created company-wide design guidelines for printing legible part numbers directly on SLS and MJF production parts — eliminating secondary labeling operations across GM and its suppliers. Systematically tested the effects of machine parameters, build orientation, material color, font size/type, emboss height, and deboss depth on mark visibility and durability. The resulting guidelines are now the standard reference for all additive SLS and MJF production parts, ensuring readable identification without additional costly labeling steps.
